Hello Everyone! Well here we are, another week has passed and its time for my offering of a little Nature in the Home. If you aren't aware of this blog get together, pop on over to Lou's lovely blog Little Green Shed and take a gander, I have thoroughly enjoyed taking part and also finding lots of lovely new blogs who are joining in.
This week I have some rather lovely daffs on my fireplace. I bought these on Sunday whilst doing my food shop, for the bargain price of 95p a bunch. I got two bunches as Im greedy, and to cheer me up when the cashier broke it to me how much that trolly of food just cost.
With Spring evading us for now and Winter holding fast I feel like I have a little bit of Spring in my front room.

My entire week last week consisted of crafting. The housework was neglected, the children neglected, and last but not least, the Nature in the Home series was neglected!
But I am back on the ball, I have spent the day spring cleaning. The downstairs of my house looks almost sparkly, the upstairs, well, it will have to wait for another day.
And now I am sitting down thinking about my blog. I have zero nature in my home at the moment, other that a couple of unattractive money plants. So my offering this week is going to be a 'I would like some of this nature in my home'!
On my Pinterest page I have an Indoor Greenery section, within this I have been developing an interest in terraniums! Ive never had one, but growing up my elderly next door neighbour had one. I can remember laying on the floor in her front room gazing into the jar unable to comprehend how she got all the plants etc in it. It fascinated me.
So here a few photos of terraniums that I really like the look of, I just need to find the time to be able to give one a go myself!

Aren't they lovely?! I like the clear distinction between the stones and the soil, it appeals to my orderly side. And I like the lid on the one above, Im sure Ive seen similar jars in TK Maxx, Im going to have to try and find one now.
You never know, perhaps in the not to distant future I will be able to show my very own terranium in the Nature in the home series!

There is one word to sum up life here in Essex at the moment, snowy!! I know, I know, its March. But someone seems to of forgotten to tell the weather.
Needless to say the schools are shut, the roads are just sheets of ice and we are on a TV marathon.
Im not sure I have ever been more ready for some sun, the silver lining? The children are Over The Moon!!!

I am snowed under at the moment with work (see what I did there?!) I have a craft fair this Sunday so am working away making some pretty things. I have lots of decorative birds and hearts, owls, cards and brooches.
I also made these yesterday, I hope people like them! I thought I would just do three and see how they go down before going crazy and doing lots.

My aim is to get my Esty shop up and running after this craft fair, I will do a blog opening party when it happens!!

Lou at Little Green Shed has opened up her Nature In the Home series to the world. So we thought we would join in, we have always really enjoyed Lou's photos of plants and flowers, and although my photography skills leave a lot to be desired. We are rather excited to be taking part.
So, here is my first photo!
This is the view from my bed at the moment, these tulips are the left overs from last weeks flower orders. Im not sure that having left overs is great financially for my business, but it is definitely something that I enjoy. And flowers in the bedroom always feels luxurious to me!

Oh my goodness, we've done it. We are in March! I think we all need a little pat on the back for getting through it.
Admittedly I did go to bed last night expecting the weather to 'know' that it was March today, and respond accordingly. But never mind, it can't be too far away now, surely?!
Every year I am always amazed at how looong this miserable part of the year goes on for. I am longing for some sun and my sunglasses. But mentally it all feels a lot closer, now that we are finally out of February.

I had a flower order to do today and the person ordering them asked for something 'Bright and Happy'. Oh Yes I thought, bright and happy we could all do with some more of, so here is what I made.
This to me is a little bit of summer in a vase. I hope that the lady I made them for likes them as much as I do.

Here at Violet&Green we are very lucky to count a rather talented artist among our friends.
That artist is Keith Watts. Keith is a master with a pen and piece of paper, so when we had an idea of how we wanted our artwork to look. We knew there was only one person to make that idea a reality.
I wanted the drawing to cover my three loves ... Flowers, Birds and Sewing. Here it is ...
When I got the email last night I was so excited I made my husband stay up half the night making it my blog header and Facebook cover picture. Impatient, me?!
Being totally inept at this kind of thing I am blessed to have a husband who is a bit more clued up, and patient of my demands!
So here we are, the new look Violet&Green, I hope you all like it.

I know, I know, whats wrong I hear you ask, you only did a post yesterday?!
Well, Im ill.
Im in bed with a tummy bug, I wont gross you out with the details, lets just say its not pleasant.
My rather amazing parents have come over and whisked all 3 small people away so I can lie here feeling sorry for myself in peace.
So here I am, in bed, the dog is snoring on the floor next to me and I am lurching between feeling like I may actually die, and boredom.
So I thought Id pop on and give you an update on the long awaited blog over haul, I know you are all just besides yourselves waiting to hear about it.
In case you haven't already noticed, we now have tabs. (Glance up). See??! How exciting. I can tell you that those tabs almost reduced me to tears. Being the non techy person that I am.
But there they are, in all their glory. The 'Shop' tab is yet to be active, I am in the process of getting my Etsy shop up and running.
Its rather a big step for me, and Im slightly scared of it. But it will happen.
Next on the list is my new header. I have done a rough sketch of how I want it to look, and handed it to a rather talented designer friend of mine.
Im hoping it wont be too long before I can put it up for the world to see.
Apologies for no pretty photos to accompany todays ramble, I am about to lurch out of boredom and back into about die mode.

Check me out! Another post already!
Things have been quiet on the flower front since Valentines, which actually is fine as Mothers Day is fast approaching. So I know I am going to be flower crazy again soon enough.

In the meantime I have had a few card orders, which I also love doing so happy days. I thought I should probably post a couple of pics of cards I have made for people so you can see what I am up to!
I have been making keep sake cards, they are initial cards and once its time for the cards to come down you remove the initial and can keep it. I hope you like them!
We also have another craft fair in 3 weeks (eeek) so have a couple of new ideas that I am working on in preparation for that. I am going to be more pro-active in keeping you up to date with what we are up to!

Happy Friday everyone! I hope you all had a nice Valentines Day yesterday?
MrViolet&Green and myself don't go mad over Valentines but I did get a rather nice card and some ribbons in the V&G colours, which was rather lovely.
I think we can safely say I have broken my own rule of posting once a week, glancing briefly at my last post it looks like it has been more like once in two weeks. I really must get on top of that!
In my defence it has been a busy couple of weeks. Firstly we had our craft fair and then we had Valentine flowers to make for people.
Those are my excuses and Im sticking to them.
I have a lot spinning around in my head at the moment, I am (still) mentally over hauling this blog. If you could do this by the power of thought, I would be pretty much finished by now. Unfortunately it would appear what I really need to do is dedicate a day to it. So Im not sure when that will happen at the moment.
I also have a lot of craft plans spinning around. I have lots of ideas for things I want to make and try, again, the power of thought is not really cutting it. And time is the deal breaker.
The last thing I have spinning around is my online shop. Now, this is something that I could do with some advice on.
I want to set up an online shop and link it to my Facebook page, and this blog. As I make things I can slowly upload them and hopefully people will like them enough to buy!
My quandry is this, what online service do I use?
My main choices are Etsy or Folksy. My concerns for Etsy, is that I have heard there are soooo many sellers on there now, its really hard to get your goods seen. My concerns for Folksy are that they want a fee for using the site, not just for what you sell. What if I don't sell anything?!
Do any of you use either of these sites and what are your feelings on them? Or do you have a recommendation for a site I haven't considered?
All feedback is gratefully received.
Apologies for a rambly post, this pretty much sums up my state of mind at the moment!
I have had a go at making Owls, here is my very first attempt ...

I am being neglectful of you! I can only apologise.
In my head I had made a small rule about trying to post once a week, I think a couple of posts a week is nice, but not always manageable (for me).
And as its Saturday again tomorrow (the last time I posted was last Saturday) I am sliding in with 2 hours to spare and sticking to my rule. Ha!
The reason for my neglect is the upcoming craft fair, Im pretty sure I have mentioned this a few times already so look away now if you can't bear hearing this again.
Next Saturday is my next craft fair and as always I am hideously un-organised. I am great at planning in my head, not so great at putting it into action.
So every moment I have, I am sewing, sticking, creating.
Nothings finished yet, but I have a week to go and you will be amazed at what can be achieved in a week!
So, in the meantime I am going to do a cheat post. My idea of a cheat post, is a Pinterest post! And here we go ...
One of my Pinterest boards is Shop Inspiration.
I have lots of aspirations, one of them is owning my own shop. I think the reality of that actually happening is pretty much hanging on a lottery win, but, I am a big believer in dreaming BIG!
In a previous life (pre children) I was in fact a window dresser.
So, shop fronts, visuals, layouts are a bit of a passion of mine. (I say passion my husband says OCD).
Here are a few of the shops I have pinned to my board, I hope you like them as much as I do.

If anyone has any tips about how to get photos on here to line up, feel free to let me know!
I've been jigging these four around for an hour with no joy.
